This week we will be talking about Alexander the Great. After reading about Alexander and his accomplishments, students will be writing an argumentative essay answering the question "Does Alexander deserve the title of Alexander the Great?". Below is the Chapter reading for the Two Column notes we started in class. There is an attachment and a link to the resources we used to complete the Source Chart. Use only pages 1-8 of the website.

This week we are comparing the Greek city-states of Athens and Sparta. Not only are we looking at the differences in government, but we're also looking at economy, education, and daily life.

This week we are continuing our look at the geography and settlement of ancient Greece. On Monday students will be finishing up their packets using the History Alive reading. If these are not finished in class they will need to be completed for homework (due Tuesday). The reading is attached below.
Students will also spend time completing a map of ancient Greece city-states, regions, and bodies of water before exploring early Greek civilizations- the Minoans and Mycenaeans.
