This year in Social Studies we will be using Google Classroom for assignments each week. Classroom is a free web-based platform that integrates Google Education accounts with all other G Suite services, including Google Docs, Gmail, and Google Calendar. Classroom saves time and paper, and makes it easy to create classes, distribute assignments, communicate, and stay organized. When using Classroom I can quickly see who has or hasn't completed the work, provide direct, real-time feedback to students and encourage student collaboration.
Not only have students been using Classroom for in class writing assignments, but each week they are expected to respond to a class post about the week's CNN Student News segments. This is a great opportunity for students to learn about what is going on in the world and discuss it with their peers.

Milford Account at home
To sign in to your Milford Google Account at home you must first go to www.google.com
Once you've reached the Google homepage you should see the option to click Sign In When you reach this screen you will enter your Milford Google Account information. This is the log in you use for the Chrome Books.
Example: [email protected] password **It is very important that you include @milfordk12.org after your name. Otherwise you will not be able to log in!** |
Google Classroom
After you have signed in you have two ways to access Google Classroom.
1. Type "Google Classroom" into your search bar or click on the Google Classroom link on my 'Useful Links' page or 2. Click on the 'waffle' icon in the top right hand corner of your Google page. After clicking on the icon find the Google Classroom icon in the drop down menu. Your screen should look similar to one of those pictured on the right -----------------> |
Switching Accounts
You may have trouble signing in if you or someone else in your family is already logged in to another Google account. To fix this you will need to add your account. First, while on the Google homepage look for the circle icon in the top right corner (it will have an image or letter). Then you will need to click the "add account" button and enter your log in information.
